Dosz Cafe
Dosz Coffee began as a completely bare shell, a raw concrete interior enclosed by full-height glazing, with no electrical or mechanical infrastructure in place. The openness of the space offered opportunity, but required a considered, ground-up approach to planning. All services, lighting, circulation, and spatial zoning were carefully integrated to establish clarity and functionality while preserving the honesty of the existing structure.
Rather than concealing the concrete floors, walls, and ceiling, the design embraced them as a deliberate backdrop. This retained rawness provides a timeless foundation against which new interventions feel purposeful and refined. Electrical and mechanical systems were seamlessly integrated to maintain a visually calm environment, allowing the architecture to remain uncluttered.
Spatial definition was achieved through custom joinery, layered lighting, and thoughtful furniture placement instead of solid partitions. Warm timber finishes and green glazed tiles were introduced to soften the industrial character, adding texture and depth while reinforcing the café’s identity. Indoor planting plays a central role, bringing movement, natural softness, and a strengthened connection to the abundant daylight entering through the glass façade.
The result is a grounded yet contemporary café that balances operational efficiency with atmosphere. By layering natural materials and biophilic elements within the existing shell, the project transforms a utilitarian structure into a welcoming, enduring space designed to support both everyday use and long-term relevance.
